K.A Tsunami warning

8.3.2021

WALT: Write a Narrative

Tsunami warning Friday 5.3.2021

Last Friday there was a Tsunami warning we packed our bags and went to the whare Mrs Stevenson asked Te Puawai to go last we walked over to the road and crossed we saw cars waiting and wondering what  we were doing once everyone crossed we had a gate to climb over we climbed over and started walking up Mount Ngatu. Some of us even walked into a spiky bush. At last we were at our first stop. We had a kai and the teachers called out the roll to make sure nowone had gone missing. Some of the girls needed to go to the toilet so we had to go behind a tank and the boys went down a hill.  I could hear other students crying and screaming. We went over and made sure they were ok.

Next, we went to a higher ground some students did not bring their drink bottles so the teachers made a drinking space for those who did not get a chance to get their drink bottle. There was lots of sand there the boys played with toy cars and the little cups for the water. I was running with Grace to meet her baby brothers but I slipped and fell on my face. I ate a bit of sand by accident and it tasted disgusting. After all that Sir finally arrived and told us that we could go to lower ground so someone went to school and got the gazebo and bbq (barbecue.) But we had to wait, so they put it up.

It took about 10-5 minutes to get it up so we ran down and played well while they were putting it up. Sir let the juniors go eat first. After everyone had eaten their sausage sizzle we had to do waiata Mrs Brydon got me, Koda, Maddie and Grace to be the starters, it was very embarrassing.

After that we just got to play around. When Sir came down he told us we could finally go back to school. After that we packed our stuff up and started walking back. When we were about half way down I slipped and hurt my knee but I kept walking.  After about half an hour of walking we reached the bottom yay!   We jumped the gate, crossed the road and we were finally back at school. Paparore was up there for about 4 hours.

My 2021 blogger

Welcome to my 2021 blogger, my name Is Kaydee I am in Te Puawai this year.  There is 19 pupils in our class and we are all year 5 students.  Our new teachers name is Mrs Jujnovich.  Our teacher aid is Yvette.

Pobble writing - narrative

Story starter!

The wind rushed through her hair as she descended the mountain at great speed. For most children this would be an exhilarating, even terrifying experience, but for Kaydee it was just an ordinary journey to school.

She was having lots of fun until suddenly the clip on top of the wire that holds her broke, Kaydee went flying down and hit the ground next to the house with a big thump. She screamed for help but then she realized that the house was empty oh no. But then she remembered she had a rope tied to her bag. She quickly untied it and tied it to the sip line and slid down to school even though she was in quite a lot of pain she made it to school just in time to start learning.

K.A Explanation writing

This week our class Te Puawai has been learning about explanation writing .

here is my document

This Morning

Getting out of bed

I dashed out of bed, chucked my clothes on and ran to the kitchen with the smell of sizzling bacon.  I packed my bag well, stumbling around the house.  My annoying brother gave me a BIG fright, that was very annoying.  I scrubbed my teeth and scruffed my hair up into a bundle.  I packed my delicious lunch and put it into my bag.  After all that I finally got to sit and relax.

Breakfast

For my breakfast I had crunchy burnt toast with dripping wet soggy butter.  And crunchy wet yummy cereal with lots of milk and lots of crunchiness and sogginess.  Also wet, crunchy, soggy, and sugary weet-bix.

Travelling to school

I put my bag in the front of the car and jumped on the seat, slapped my seat belt on and we were off.  The first thing I saw was a pretty colorful bird.  Then I heard birds tweeting and cicadas buzzing and yet I could still hear the dogs barking.  Oh gosh!

Mad science

WALT predict and explain what is happening during our science experiments.

On Friday last week Te Manga did some science experiments. The 3 things we did was crawling colours, salt volcano and magic milk.My favourite one was the salt volcano because all you need is salt oil and water. What you need to is put some water in a cup then poor some oil in gently and slowly otherwise it will go all bubbly. After that you put a little bit of salt, but only do it little by little because if you do it fast it could spill everywhere. Then the salt goes to the bottom and make's bubbles pop up.

My second favourite thing was the magic milk Because all you need is milk food colouring and a little box.The first thing you need to do is put a little bit of milk into the box then put a few colours in to the milk . You would also need a stick and some Liquid with those dip the stick into the liquid then into the milk and the colours will spread everywhere. If you keeped dipping it and moving the stick around it will turn into one colour. That was why it was one of my favourites. when we finished we had to tip it in a bin all of it together looked so cool.
